Working under the responsibility of the Project Manager, the chosen candidate will be the main support in his/her capacity as an Assistant Project Manager, for managing the redevelopment of a large luxury hotel project in Brussels, during the construction phase.

    Responsibilities:

    Working on a full-time basis, the chosen candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Managing communication, coordination and transmission of information between stakeholders (consultants, contractors, suppliers, customers, etc.;
    • Reviewing documents/information before submission/circulation
    • Assisting with issuing and updating the project management plan, risk register, procurement plan, progress reports, tender reports and all other reports as needed, meetings minutes, emails, notes and any other documents needed for the development and efficient and effective operational functioning of the project. Such documents must be produced in French and/or English as necessary;
    • Formally communicating with the client (in English) and meeting with the client to ensure that all requirements are met in line with their business needs and objectives;
    • Organizing meetings when and as necessary;
    • Assisting in assessing Contractor’s bids, coordinate technical and commercial reviews
    • Supporting the management of Contractors including daily site visits.
    • Supporting the management of all technical, contractual and administrative aspects of the project including but not limited to: planning, executing, monitoring and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within budgets, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Supporting the coordination of all project requirements including leading the client interface and coordinating the multi-disciplinary design team members and all stakeholders to deliver complex programmes of works according to plan;
    • Assisting with the commercial aspect of project plans as well as change and risk control and quality assurance;
    • Collaborating with Document Controllers and other team members to ensure that the detailed systematic flow of information amongst all interested project team members matches the status of the assigned task/s;
    • Monitoring that the objectives contained in project documents such as the relative tender and contracts are achieved;

    Requirements:

    • A recognized professional qualification in this field preferably in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering or a related field;
    • Professional experience demonstrating a proven track record of successful delivery of complex and/or large scale projects, with multi-disciplinary teams from inception to completion;
    • Highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislation and practices applicable to the Construction industry in Belgium, particularly in Brussels;
    • Knowledge of hotel developments would be considered an asset;
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project and/or related programs for scheduling and managing work. Knowledge and skills related to AutoCad  will be considered an asset;
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both French and English;
    • Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise and adapt, and to work closely with others in a multidisciplinary environment;
    • Attention to detail, analytical, leadership and negotiation skills, influencing skills, and the ability to understand and express technical concepts accurately with confidence and clarity;
    • Collaborative approach with the ability to maximize short-term requirements and output whilst building long-term productive relationships;
    • A measured approach to decision-making, being able to take decisions as and when needed in the interest of efficiency;

    Position:

    • Full-time with a minimum duration of 3 years.
