The facility is located in Tal-Kus, limits of Xewkija, adjacent to Tal-Kus Civic Amenity Site. The project represents an investment value of approximately €10 million which was co-financed through EU funds. The transfer station represents a positive shift towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly system of waste management, where recycling and recovery are the way forward. This development will continue to increase public awareness of the need for positive waste management and contribute towards the recovery of the resources.
QP has been appointed as architects and structural engineers for the construction of a waste treatment and transfer facility at Xewkija, Gozo, for the receipt, sorting, processing, interim storage and transfer/transportation of non-hazardous and non-inert wastes, designed to high-performance architectural and structural specifications to create a contemporary facility.
