With an area of 217,000sqm, the aviation park in Safi included a 5000sqm aircraft hangar, a 4000sqm office and workshop space, 27,000sqm aprons, a 21,000sqm taxiway and a 8000sqm carpark with all associated services. Phase 1 was completed in time and to budget on the 31st July 2010.
QP Management had been appointed as architects, engineers and project managers to develop works that consisted of a VIP lounge extension to the existing gateway building, together with the modernisation of the existing building that, for this project, was the final stage before the official opening of the Safi Aviation Park. This project was envisaged as a landmark piece for the aviation park. The curved roofs were conceived with both aesthetical and functional intentions, the latter being that flexible photovoltaic panels have been fixed to these curvatures given their favourable orientation.
