Responsibilities

Working on a full-time basis and reporting to the Senior Partner, the chosen candidate will be

Responsible for the following duties:

  • Carry out the duties of an Interior Designer, including concept design and feasibility, schematic, developed and detailed design, design coordination, procurement, supervision of works, quality assurance and certification.
  • Assist in determining clients’ requirements and develop their brief accordingly, supporting the Interior Design team to deliver high-quality design options and client-focused design solutions;
  • Produce and assist with technical drawings, including plans, elevations, joinery details, FF&E layouts specifications and procurement.
  • Develop interior design concepts with strong design flair, contributing to the development and consolidation of the QP design brand.
  • Assist the Senior Interior Designer in overseeing interior design delivery, including sustainability considerations, technology integration and evolving living and hospitality trends.
  • Maintain and support discipline-specific Revit models and contribute to federated coordination models.
  • Run clash detection and track coordination issues across architectural, interior, MEP and structural models.
  • Assist the design team with Revit model production, including interiors, FF&E layouts and detailed components, and support efficient modelling workflows.
  • Carry out quality control checks on models and drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with client BIM requirements and agreed LOD at each project stage.
  • Support information exchange through the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring proper file management, version control and data handover to contractors and facility managers.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and assist in developing solutions and contingency plans when and as necessary.
  • Ensure project quality assurance is maintained and validated through ongoing client feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that Interior Design practices, policies, strategies and services comply with applicable legislation, professional standards, Codes of Practice and client BIM requirements.
  • Inspect project sites to verify compliance with contract documentation and approved designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related construction discipline.
  • Proven experience in the interior fit-out industry, with exposure to hospitality, residential and/or commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Maltese construction standards, legislation and industry practices.
  • Passion for design with experience in integrated interior architecture and concept development.
  • Ability to develop and communicate design ideas using a range of media, from hand sketches to advanced digital tools.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, and Microsoft Office; Revit, 3D modelling and presentation software are considered assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure within a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and decision-making skills, with the confidence to communicate technical concepts clearly.
