Responsibilities

Working on a full-time basis and reporting to the Senior Partner, the chosen candidate will be

 

Responsible for the following duties:

  • Carrying out the duties of an Interior Designer at Partner level including but not limited to concept design and feasibility of interior design, schematic design, developed design, detailed design, design coordination, procurement, supervision of works, quality assurance of installed interiors and certification;
  • Assisting the Senior Partner with the management of the Interior Design team when and as necessary;
  • Assisting to determine Clients’ initial requirements and develop their brief accordingly, supporting the Interior Design team to deliver the best possible design options and solutions to customer satisfaction;
  • Assisting the team with the production of technical drawings such as floor plans, elevations, and joinery detailing, FF&E specification and procurement;
  • Develop interior design concepts with design flair to assist in developing and consolidating the QP design brand;
  • Assisting the Senior Partner with overseeing and managing all aspects of interior design from sustainability issues through to technology, living trends, interior design and
  • Proactively and efficiently managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and assisting with devising contingency plans when and as necessary;
  • Ensuring project quality assurance confirmed with feedback from clients throughout the lifecycle of the projects;
  • Ensuring that Interior Design practices, policies, strategies and services comply with current legislation, professional standards and Codes of Practice;
  • Inspecting project sites to ensure compliance with contract documents;

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in interior design, Interior architecture or other construction-related field from an accredited and reputable school;
  • A proven track record with minimum ten years’ experience working in the Interior fit out industry, preferably having worked on a variety of interiors projects including hospitality, residential and/or commercial projects, among others;
  • Highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislations and practices applicable to the construction industry in Malta;
  • A passion for design with an understanding of and experience in integrated interior architecture;
  • The ability to use multiple media (hand sketching through to advanced digital media) to develop, test and communicate design ideas;
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office among other associated software. 3D skills in presentation software would also be preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to work closely with others in a multidisciplinary environment to deliver projects in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Attention to detail, influencing skills, assertiveness and the ability to understand and express technical concepts accurately with confidence and clarity;
  • Proficient analytical skills and a measured approach to decision-making, being able to take decisions as and when needed in the interest of efficiency;
  • A motivated team player demonstrating an eager and positive work ethic;
  • A valid driving licence required to carry out site inspections;
