The client’s main objective was to create a wellness sanctuary according to a design that would encapsulate the ethos and spirit of the Mediterranean. The new Athenaeum included state-of-the art facilities such as the Vitality Suite with its pool, heated marble beds, sauna and steam room, a nail bar, treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge and terrace, and an indoor pool complete with a jacuzzi. The underlying concept was the nurturing of the body and mind within a Mediterranean-inspired oasis setting. Every single component of the spa besides performing efficiently in terms of use was studied with regards to its colour, form, shape and texture.
