Responsibilities:

Working on a full-time basis, the chosen candidate will primarily be responsible for the following duties:

  • Carrying out the duties of a Senior Architect including but not limited to property valuations, planning consent, design coordination, feasibility studies, architectural specifications and detailing, supervision of works and certification, as well as other administrative matters relating to architecture;
  • Supporting the Senior Partner with managing all project aspects in relation to the Architectural department, including coordinating works with clients, other members of staff and other consultants,
  • Supporting the team and providing the necessary guidance in carrying out their duties related to preparing valuation reports, including market research, area take-offs, assessment of planning data and any necessary site inspections;
  • Reviewing and issuing property valuations, ensuring these are in accordance with company standards, legislations and relevant codes of practices, to ensure a complete and coordinated approach;
  • Estimating costs relating to the properties being valued;
  • Carrying out duties related to the Planning Authority (PA), liaising with the PA and other Authorities and organizations for planning consent and any other necessary permits and clearances, required for applications at the appropriate stages of each project;
  • Supporting the team and reviewing submissions relating to the Planning Authority (PA) and other Authorities;
  • Preparing reports relating to planning procedures and project descriptions;
  • Supporting the team with the production of architectural and technical drawings relating to architectural components;
  • Undertaking and supporting the team with design coordination;
  • Preparing and presenting reports and / or presentation material to clients and stakeholders as necessary;
  • Supporting more junior team members when and as necessary, including any training requirements;

Requirements

  • A recognized architectural degree and/or a recognized professional qualification in this field. A master’s degree in a relevant subject would be considered an asset;
  • A proven track record working for a considerable amount of years in property valuations and planning matters;
  • A local Perit warrant is required;
  • Proven management skills and leadership qualities to lead teams and consultants, and maintain strong client relationships, whilst motivating and inspiring others;
  • A solid understanding in local Planning Authority policies;
  • Highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislations and practices applicable to the Construction industry in Malta;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Ability to anticipate project requirements and to manage multiple priorities while consistently achieving high standards and goals;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to work closely with others in a multidisciplinary environment;
  • Thorough and able to review others’ work and to coordinate multiple detailed information;
  • Proficient analytical skills and a measured approach to decision-making, being able to take decisions as and when needed in the interest of efficiency;

  • Assisting the architectural team with dimensional surveys of buildings;
  • Preparing and developing block plans, layout plans, elevations and cross sections in architectural, planning and construction drawings;
  • Assisting in preparing and developing 3D-modelling and visual imagery for architectural projects;
  • Preparing and developing area schedules for architectural projects and other related projects;
  • Preparing and developing aperture schedules or schedules relating to other architectural components, including developing product data sheets;
  • Undertaking works related to the Planning Authority (PA), liaising with the PA, environmental and other Authorities and organizations for planning consent and any other associated permits and clearances while also preparing and developing drawings and documents required for applications at the appropriate stages of each project;
  • Inspecting and delivering supervision services on project sites to ensure compliance with contract documents, professional and company standards, health and safety, and codes of practice;
  • Meeting with the various stakeholders to coordinate plans and make sure all requirements are met;
  • Preparing regular progress reports and any required meeting minutes;
  • Ensuring the use of advanced design and presentation software in preparing architectural plans, using a variety of media in the development and documentation of design projects;

Requirements

  • A recognized architectural degree or a related qualification in this field.
  • A proven track record working as an architect assistant with experience working on a variety of architectural projects including hospitality, residential and/or commercial projects, among others;
  • Highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislations and practices applicable to the construction industry in Malta;
  • A solid understanding in local Planning Authority policies;
  • A valid driving licence required;
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCad, REVIT and Microsoft Office;
  • Proactive approach to learning new software as may be required for particular design assignments;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English;

Responsibilities

Working on a full-time basis and reporting to the Senior Partner, the chosen candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Producing and assisting the team with the production of schematic and detailed technical drawings from development of concept design ideas and feasibility into detailed sketches and drawings, architectural design, civil engineering design, structural engineering design, design coordination, supervision of works and measurement;
  • Supporting the Civil and Structural Engineering team to deliver the best possible design options and solutions to customer satisfaction and in support of business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders;
  • Preparing technical and drawing schedules;
  • Performing building surveys and related field work as assigned;
  • Planning and managing documentation of design work;
  • Representing the company at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers;
  • Ensuring project Quality Assurance confirmed with feedback from clients by promoting, utilizing, and supporting quality control throughout the lifecycle of the projects involved in, while making the necessary rectifications throughout;
  • Ensuring that all Civil and Structural Engineering aspects of the project are properly and efficiently managed and controlled;

Requirements

  • A recognized professional qualification in this field;
  • Professional experience demonstrating a proven track record of successfully  drafting complex and/or large scale projects, while working with multi-disciplinary teams from inception to completion;
  • Highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislations and practices applicable to the Construction industry in Malta;
  • Knowledge of hotel, commercial and residential developments would be considered an asset;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Revit, and/or related programs. Knowledge and skills related to BIM will be considered an asset;

Working on a full-time basis and reporting to the Senior Partner, the chosen candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Concept design and feasibility, structural and civil engineering design, limited architectural design, design coordination, supervision of works and certification of contractor bills;
  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation, professional Standards and Codes of Practice;
  • Proactively and efficiently managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and assisting with devising contingency plans when and as necessary;
  • Ensuring that all Civil and Structural Engineering aspects of the project are properly managed and controlled;
  • Preparing recommendations for Clients’ approval;
  • Preparing and communicating technical and commercial progress reports to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Analyzing and preparing reports with the necessary calculations about loads, stresses and strains regarding structural components, element sizing and detailing of structural elements;
  • Selecting and utilizing the right materials, while considering their strength and how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design;
  • Examining structures and assessing their condition and advising how to improve their structural integrity;
  • Monitoring planning, scope, budgets and schedules, ensuring that services and project work are carried out within the stipulated deadlines and budgets, to the company’s standards and to contractual agreements;

Requirements

  • A recognized professional qualification in this field preferably in Civil and Structural Engineering,  Engineering or a related field;
  • Professional experience demonstrating a proven track record of successful delivery of complex and/or large scale projects, with multi-disciplinary teams from inception to completion;
  • Perit Warrant;

  • Supporting with the development and updating of Architectural concepts and project briefs combining aesthetics with practical considerations, and maintaining the integrity of designs through robust change control and project processing techniques from conception to completion, ensuring a seamless document flow in the process;
  • Inspecting and delivering supervision services on project sites for architectural related projects to ensure compliance with contract documents for all architectural components, professional and company standards, health and safety, and codes of practice;
  • Assisting in ensuring project Quality Assurance for architectural components;
  • Producing and assisting the team with the production of architectural and technical drawings relating to architectural components;
  • Preparing regular progress and feasibility reports among others and meeting minutes as required;

Requirements

  • A recognized architectural degree. A master’s degree in a relevant subject would be considered an asset;
  • Hold a Perit warrant with a minimum of two years’ experience;
  • A proven track record working in property valuations;
  • Possess a solid understanding in local Planning Authority policies;
  • Highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislation and practices applicable to the construction industry in Malta;
  • A valid driving license required to carry out property inspections and surveys;
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Proficiency in BIM and/or other related design systems would be considered an asset;
